Description:

These arrangements are easy to learn & play but they still sound good! Each tune is played once at normal speed & then taught one section at a time on the tape. The sections are all marked off & labeled in the tablature booklet.

Customer Compliments

"As a Dobro beginner, I’m starting from scratch. The "Easy Dobro Solos" tape is GREAT, and I like the slow, methodical NO-NONSENSE approach." T Flynn, West Chester, PA

"I really think your Dobro courses are the best. I've been a professional steel guitarist in Nashville the past 20 years & apreciate your Dobro Courses."--Ron Hogan, Nashville TN

"In 1970 I was living in Houston. I took a trip to Hugo Oklahoma to the big (really big) bluegrass festival. I had bought an old Dobro in 1965 and wanted to see how others were playing it. There I met a young fellow by the name of Dan Huckabee! I was very impressed with his eagerness and love of the Dobro. In fact it was the biggest incentive that I had to that date. Later, in 1978 I went overseas (I worked in the oil Industry) to Libya and Saudi Arabia. I took my Dobro with me, but found there were no players around and no opportunities to learn. Well, then I found out about your teaching tapes. With your help I learned to play reasonably well. Well enough to play with friends and some groups. For this I am grateful to you. I have many of your tapes and books and am well pleased with them all. Recently I bought the special six tapes and a plastic holder. The quality of these is just as good as the rest of your material and I am enjoying learning some new songs. So, Dan, this Christmas I just wanted to write and express my appreciation for the high standards of your teaching material. Thanks a lot! May the New year and New Millenium bring you much happiness and prosperity. Best Regards," Jim McCoy, Quitman TX

Many thanks for your speedy shipping. The discs arrived today. I just started playing dobro a few months ago. I've been playing guitar for 21 years (Bluegrass, Rock, & Classic Country) and recently decided to take dobro up for a second instrument. I wish I would have done it a lot earlier. Anyways, in the past few months I have purchased your Easy Dobro Solos 1 & 2 and I must say your lessons have been of great help. There has been a few others I have purchased that just didn't cut it. You are a great instructor and I just wanted to thank you for a good job and product. I will blow my Bluegrass compadre's minds w/ my new Dobro skills now. Thanks, R Tenhet-Jackson, MS

Amazon 5 Star Review: 11 of 11 people found the following review helpful: Like water to a thirsty man..., February 12, 2004 By Karl D. Chambers (Newburyport, MA United States) - See all my reviews Finally, a dobro instruction book for people who actually are beginners. This is the one! I have tried three other titles, all of which start out with how to tune and move right on to Jerry Douglasville. Dan Huckabee understands us. He knows we want to begin playing something recognizable right away, and he delivers. The slim spiral-bound book features 10 tunes in tablature, with mostly two-finger picking. But the best part is the CD. Huckabee plays each song in real time and with a skill to make your eyes water. But at least you know what you're shooting for. Then he breaks each tune into segments, plays the segment slowly, plays it again even slower, and gives verbal tips. So you go practice, then play the tune on CD again and play along. Just like you know what you're doing! If you're a long way from Nashville like I am, a good dobro instructor is hard to find. Unless you sit right down with Dan Huckabee and learn from the master.

Dear Dan, I really love all my new lessons. I've learned "A Hundred Yrs. From Now". You are right, it IS easy to transpose to other keys. I am writing to thank you for including all the beautiful backup in your instruction. You always go the extra mile ! Learning the backup will be fun and will make me a more complete dobro player. Without you, I never could've learned the dobro, and playing my dobro makes me really, really happy !! Your lessons have been a total life-saver for me. Thank you so much, Dan. You are a blessing ! Thanks again Dan, & have a great 4th of July. Sincerely, DIANE and Bob Adams--Bloomfield NM June 12-2009
