Learn how to play 10 easy Gospel Mandolin solos designed to help you develop your personal solo designing skills.
On the AUDIO portion of this course, each lesson is presented in 4 steps:- Fast -Slow -Plain -Play Along -Jam Track
On the AUDIO portion of this course, each lesson is presented in 4 steps: • Each solo is played at normal speed with accompanying rhythm guitar to demonstrate the finished product. • A plain bare bones melody is played with accompanying rhythm, because the plain melody is the framework that the stylized mandolin solo is built from. • The solo is played at half speed so the student can hear it under the microscope. • A jam along version allows the student to play along after he or she is ready to keep up with the music. *The jam track consists of 5 rounds, with the solos recorded on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th round and an empty space for the student on the 2nd and 4th rounds. Each song in this course is in the key of A to allow the student to observe the similarities from song to song for the purpose of understanding solo development. *Note: we have many courses that teach all of the other keys after a student is ready for the next step.
The WRITTEN MATERIAL is 45 pages in tablature form with: Chords, lyrics, and supportive material such as: How to Read Tablature, Pick Direction, Mandolin parts, Tuning, Setting & Tuning the Bridge, Open Chords for Mandolin, Bluegrass chop, Rhythm Chords, Basic Bluegrass Chord Progressions, Advanced Chop Rhythm Chords, Key Changing Wheel, Misc Information, Mandolin Fingerboard Chart, Major Scales, The Bill Monroe Bluegrass Scale, Major Arpeggios, Double Stops, Finger Exercises, Crazy Scales etc.
"Hey Dan, Just wanted to say thanks. If not for your teaching methods that don’t just give you instruction but actually teach you how to learn, I probably would not be playing the Mandolin. I would have given it up long ago. Your arrangements are more full & sound so much better than other arrangements being played around me. This is very important to me –in a big way. Thanks again… Garry" --Garry Simpson, Gore's Landing, Ontario. Canada.
